God’s Wisdom ~ Weeds and Thorns

A highway will be there, a roadway, And it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, But it will be for him who walks that way, And fools will not wander on it.  Isaiah 35:8

When the pathway you travel is overgrown with weeds and thorns, and the next step is obscured, do not fear.  I have already cleared the path up ahead and it is sunlit with the rays of my glory.

I call my disciples to what feels like too great a risk.  Most turn back because they do not trust Me enough to lead them by the hand.  You are proving to be an exception.  Though you have had many years of experiences that might prove otherwise, you still choose to believe that I am true to My character.  You are putting me to the test and I inhale the essence of such obedience.

God’s Wisdom ~ The Eyes Of Your Spirit

THE EYES OF YOUR SPIRIT

Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live; and I will observe Your word [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying it].  Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.  I am a stranger and a temporary resident on the earth; hide not Your commandments from me. Psalm 119:17-19

You are living in significant days.  I planned each one of them before you were ever born.  I knew that you would one day find your home in Me and live astonished and amazed. I knew that many others would misunderstand the signs of my miraculous work in your life.  All of heaven aligns with you.  They stand with you shoulder to shoulder and bear witness to the truth of the revelations you are seeing with the eyes of your spirit.  To every one who believes, I make it possible to receive glories that defy explanation.  For any who reject me and choose to wander in the land of unbelief, they will suffer perplexity.

Continue to stretch forth your hand for more of Me.  My resources always exceed your desires. I am the God who gives above all that one would ever ask, think, or dream.  To assume otherwise is to not know Me at all.

God’s Wisdom ~ Expendable

GOD’S WISDOM ~ EXPENDABLE

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.  John 6:26

I’m often only perceived as Someone who could stretch five loaves and two fishes into a meal for 5,000, or as One who could calm the seas and end a churning and angry storm.  I’m more than that!  It’s painful to be desired only for what you can give.  Am I just an avenue to a miracle and nothing more?  You know what it feels like to be valued only because you’re useful somehow.  People hear of your compassion and know they can call on you but once they get what they want, your value often diminishes.

What you need most is not what I can do for you, it’s who I am.  If the storm roars, that is not the point.  What matters most is whether or not I’m in your boat.  Your greatest need is to love Me.  Gifts won’t change you. Only worshipping Me brings the transformation you seek.

God’s Wisdom ~ After Failure

GOD’S WISDOM ~ AFTER FAILURE

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.  Acts 3:19

You have experienced the nature of My love, how it is not like any other love on earth. I extended mercy to Peter before he even denied Me.  Who does this!  Then, My eyes embraced him in the courtyard just after he betrayed Me.  He lived the next few days in anguish but after My resurrection, I sent word to him that I was alive and anxious to see him.  On the shores of Lake Tiberius, he probably believed that I would have a stinging sermon about his defection.  He was wrong.  I only asked, “Do you love me, Peter?”

The question for anyone who fails Me is the same.  “Do you love me?  If so, follow me.”  My mercy is unfathomable.  It will heal you and cause you to be a zealous disciple, finishing the race in a shining blaze of glory.

God’s Wisdom ~ When You Are Shaken

And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.  Deuteronomy 8:2

My Word has been sown into your heart as seeds, but your enemy is relentless, always plotting ways to steal them.  He will send driving rains and scorching heat to kill my Word.

What does a farmer do if the seed is stolen?  He replants.  He tenderly nurtures the seed until it takes root.  So you must do when you are tired and the seed is fragile.  Affirm my work.  Revisit my visitations.  Review our history.  In doing so, you will recover your heart and your joy.

What do two people do when their relationship is plagued with insecurity, when they are in want of confidence?  They read old love letters, close their eyes, and remember declarations of love and loyalty.  In the review, their faith is renewed, and their breathing slows once again.  You need to stand on holy ground.  Remove your shoes.
